Right Now

Anna Goodall, that ring is sooo already on my christmas list AND i nearly bought it for your birthday! We are so very in tune with eachother. I am rather in love with this too

Friday, 10 December 2010

Just now

On Wednesday Rosie drew my attention to this ring from Tatty Devine.Moustache Ring
They also have some pipe jewellery and a moustache brooch and oh so many other good things. Not as good as the amazing item in Saskia's last post though! That is outstanding!

Right now

I am feeling a little glum because Oxford have turned me down.

Right Now: The Hitler Rap

I just remembered the existence of the song To Be Or Not To Be by Mel Brooks, so I checked on YouTube and of course there it was. I hadn't heard it since it was in the charts (apparently in 1983) even though my brain had held on to the chorus thus prompting the search, so it was rather a treat to hear it and then I noticed a coincidental additional treat for Saskia at about 2 mins 10 secs in ...

Thank goodness Listerine allowed us ladies to shed our out-sized cat bells!

Right Now

I saw this and giggled and thought Anna might enjoy a revisit... I love a bit of photo-shop faked water colour!

Right Now

Recognise anyone?

Right

Sam is VERY upset by those photos! He HATES eyes drawn on eyelids (in a good natured way). They remind him of Paul McCartney (but they are Brilliant!).
Berek, what was the reply?? My dependence on solvents stems from the fact that I have ONLY just finished decorating and I started at 9am! Hard core... you know the score!

Tuesday, 9 November 2010

Back Then: Some Early Moustaches (November 1993, Derby).

I've gone for the full (yet very groomed and stylised) beard and one drawn-on eye, whereas Becky has opted for the classic pencil moustache and eyes drawn on her eyelids and glasses!

Monday, 8 November 2010

Right Now

I'm rather excited about my first reply from a uni. I am also curious as to why my fellow bloggers have developed a fondness for moustaches , is it anything to do with Movember? My curiosity has been aroused even further (close to the level so famously fatal to felines) as to what has led Saskia down the path of solvent abuse?

Right Now

Fellow bloggers have you taken me at my word? Are we now having a silent meeting for worship?? Help, still high on wood stain/varnish/white spirit!

Saturday, 6 November 2010

Right Now

This is making me happy. Sorry it's not the whole song. I hope you enjoy his cymbal arm. Right.... back to the moustaches...

Thursday, 4 November 2010

Right Now

I am decorating, decorating, decorating! Possibly high on white spirit! I like how our blog is taking the form of a quaker meeting. We barely ever comment on what eachother say AND what we say is tremendously pertinent and profound!

Wednesday, 3 November 2010

Right NOW

I'm reflecting on the fact that this afternoon I accidentally told told the Psychiatrist at work that I was "losing my mind".

Right Now

I am finding this mini documentary really fascinating and marvellous.

(I might be a slight geek.)

BackThen

Poor show my blogging buddies. Though I do always appreciate a good hat Anna.
Well as Geeg went as a fox I had planned to go as a hunting dog complete with red jacket, top hat 'n' all.w Alas when I got to the fancy dress shop they had run out of animal costumes, so I had to make do with a blood stained doctor.

Tuesday, 2 November 2010

Right Now I am posting this...

...just in case Bekka ever looks at this blog.

Right Now

I'm delighted to have found this great song on youtube - I taped it off the radio many many years ago and hadn't heard it for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages...

Monday, 1 November 2010

Back Then

'Fraid to say I didn't dress up for Halloween either but I did wear a good hat all day. How 'bout you, Bezza?

Back then

I'm afraid not Berek, I went to a wedding and there was a spooooky magic lantern show though! It was rubbish!

RightNow

I'm on my way to collywolly after spending a fantastic weekend in Frieth/High Wycombe. I'm also wondering if my fellow RightNowers dressed themselves up for All Hallows Eve and if so what they dressed as.

Right Now

I am crying with laughter at around 1:43 minute of this. I think it might be one of my favourites!

(Phew, indeed, Anna)

PHEW!

Right Now

am rather grateful that the extra hour I had asleep this morning was nothing to panic about - it was cancelled out by "daylight saving" which I had forgotten about. The only reason I was worried is that Right Now I am about to embark on making a chocolate cake for my dad's birthday tea which is in fact almost 4 months late - he was born at the beginning of August (some years ago, in case you were starting to feel bewildered by my family's seemingly unorthadox set-up)...

Here's one of my favourite pics of my dad, having a quick doze on a cliff top in Wales.

Saturday, 30 October 2010

Right......now

I'm beginning to lose faith in London's transport infrastructure. In my recent attempts to travel on weekends I have been left with the feeling that it would have been easier to travel by car. In fact today it would have been easier to travel on the back of a half blind one legged unicyclist who suffers from sunlight induced epileptic fits!

Right Now

I am GUTTED that I didn't think to make this. I haven't seen it yet, but it looks awesome

Right Now

I'm wishing I had thought of the Octopie - it's incredibly amazing and good.

Also right now I have the following earworm :"So don't ask me to wine & dine ya, I'm from Brooklyn you're from Regina" and I haven't even listened to that song recently!

Now I'm going to search for it on youtube...found it! Here's a link . (No vid sadly...)

Thursday, 28 October 2010

Right Now

It won't let me put the octopus link in the body of the text. Grr. Think the 'Octu-Pie' creator deserves credit.

Enough Said

Wednesday, 27 October 2010

And now...

...I'm sad that I didn't realise that Lloyd Cole was on tour at the mo 'cause I'd have loved to have seen him again. Bah. Why don't I ever remember to look at concert listings?
Here are some pictures of his rather lovely face to make me feel even more disappointed...

Right Now

I am thinking that A Bit Of Fry & Laurie is my all-time favourite sketch show and I love love love it. I was watching series 1 at the weekend and was very happy about it indeed!

Right Now

Oh no, I've done that thing again when i post something and then I can't bear to look at it... So here something similarly smutty...

Right Now

Oh Anna, I wasn't being anti the pastie per se, just in combination with any sort of badger based garment. I really think you could carry the pastie off! Don't go changing your birthday outfit for me! I'd feel terrible. In fact I was thinking about just wearing red lacey pants.

Tuesday, 26 October 2010

Right Now

I am delighted that (thanks to Felix's facebook link) I have found a home for my dance. A place where it will be revered not despised. A place where it can finally be at peace.
The guy in the stripy top is almost doing said dance towards the beginning (roundabout 30 - 40 seconds in) but needs to work on increasing his use of overly intense eye contact...

Right Now I'm Thinking

Damn - it sounds like pasties have been somewhat spoiled for Sas now that they have a dead-badger connotation, so I'd better rethink my outfit for my birthday drinks. Pah.

Also, by small coincidence I had a Greggs vegetable pasty for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely delicious. It didn't have any tassles on thankfully - they tend to get stuck in one's teeth.

Sunday, 24 October 2010

RIGHTNOW!

Right now I'm very pissed off because the absolutely useless TFL journey planner service has made me nicely late. Cheers TFL!

Right Now

That delightful Rachael-based garment is reminding me that Becca went to a party on Friday night and there was a girl wearing... wait for it.... red lacey pants, pasties and a cape/shrug made out of a badger skin with the badger head resting between her shoulder blades! (If you prefer to imagine her wearing greggs cheese and onion pasties I will not hold it against you).
In the interest of asserting my solidarity with the badgers I have included a photo of a badger wearing a badger cape with the head in the correct head position.

Right Now

I am amused that the shops seem to be concentrating on supplying appropriate jumpers for the Takens-Milne family this season. Will Eric or Henrica be next do you reckon?

Friday, 22 October 2010

RightyNowy

I just got very confused and accidentally started following ourselves, then spent about half an hour trying to unfollow us. Saskia do I detect a hit of sarcasm in your surprise at my fondness for Georgia?
This drinks game sounds fun I must attempt it next time I'm in a drinky type place ie work or a snooty restaurant.

Right Now

My boss has just declared 'Sea salt and balsamic vinegar! Pull yourself together!' Which made me laugh! Especially when i imagined it as an 'A bit of fry and laurie' soundbite.

Right Now

Berek Warren! As I live and breath! I had no IDEA you fancied Georgia! That has put an enormous grin on my (half cut) face.
Erm, ok, on the drinks front... they were, erm, Pepsi Max, Squash and Ginger Beer. Anna just happens to like the accumulation of drinks. On one notable occasion in a rather stuck up restaurant in New York she managed to accumulate 5 (is that right Anna?) and on that occasion some of them were alcoholic.

RightNow

The job is charity call centre stuff, so not super exciting but it fits round college. The dame in question is the unbelievably lovely and incredibly beautiful Georgia Cook.
What's all this about drinking at work then and how do I convince my boss to let me do it too?

Thursday, 21 October 2010

Right Now

Anna: I have THREE drinks on the go! And I am at work, which I think makes it an even more daring feat!
Berek: How very exciting. Who is the lucky dame?? What's the job?

Wednesday, 20 October 2010

RightNow

What an exciting fortnight it's been so far. I completed UCAS, acquired a job and best of all got me an amazing girlfriend. Times right now are good.

Right now

I am surprised because I don't think I even knew MCA had been poorly, yet happy that he is making a recovery. Poor Adam. The Beasties are amazing.

Mike's (current) wife is surprisingly mumsy, eh? Do you like my vaguely threatening parentheses? Ha ha ha.

Right Now

I am chuckling at this:
http://www.fixedearth.com/knowledge%20impact.htm
I feel almost entirely persuaded by its extremely articulate and fact-based reasoning. In fact, from now on, I intend to refer to Psychology as 'Freud’s evolution-based, ostensibly secular "knowledge of the mind" witchcraft' - it just trips off the toungue.

Right Now

I am quite shocked to discover this!
http://www.tamradaviscookingshow.com/
I was VERY happy to hear that MCA is on the mend, but I am rather shocked that this is what Mike D's wife gets up to!! Anna, I think it is time you swept in and stole him off her!

Compare and contrast with my competition:

Damn it! I love Le Tigre!

Right Now

Hee hee, I have the original of that list right here...

Erm... Here's a picture of Sam eating the back pocket of my jeans to distract you from the fact that I haven't done a single thing on that list! Oo, but I became slightly more ergonomic. Can that count??

Saturday, 16 October 2010

Right Now

I am a little startled. I was just reading the tv guide & it mentioned that Lost had a disappointing ending  - I think I only ever watched 1 episode but I suddenly wanted to know what the ending was so I decided to google it. I got as far as typing "what was" and google instant came up with "what was Lost all about?" WTF?! Are the googlemen SPYING on me or something?

Right Now

I am looking through some folders and have just come across this photo from NYE 2009, which sets out Saskia's and my own New Year's resolutions for this year. WITH ONLY 2.5 MORE MONTHS TO GO, HOW ARE YOU GETTING ON SAS???

I'm terribly afraid to say that I have failed at all 4 so far... I might start working on an aerodynamic fashion line RIGHT NOW though.

Right Now

Sorry, this is not very 'right now', but right now I am too upset by the bidet picture and need to put something up to push it down the page! Sadly, if you want to employ this person as a house this photo was taken a couple of years ago so they have probably been snapped up by now!
Anna, I like the blog a lot! Makes me want to live in New York.

Friday, 15 October 2010

Right Now

I'd like to share one of my favourite blogs: http://advancedstyle.blogspot.com/

I love it.

Right Now

I am being disturbed by this
Do you think it happens when you flush??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SB-BidetIntegrated.jpg

Right Now

I am amazed that it's UCAS form time already when you've barely even started the course, Berek! These are exciting times. I have a fish at home. I will ask him to spread the word around the university fishes about your nice hook. Oo, that sounds like a euphemism. Sam heard a rumour that you had an ugly hook! Oops, this has turned into a piece of automatic writing. Although, come to think of it, automatic writing is very much in the spirit of the RIGHT NOW ethos! Can you be in the spirit of an ethos, I wonder?
Don't look now, but we seem to have attracted a new follower! We must try our best not to scare this one away!

It's done!

Right now I'm relived of my UCAS worries. That's right people I have completed the dreaded form and my personal statement has been finalised (after 7 drafts), inspected and complemented by my tutor. The whole lot has now been sent off to be stuck onto a fishing line and dangled into the ocean of education in the hope that some shinny university bites. Fingers crossed for a 100pound Oxford Kipper.

Thursday, 14 October 2010

Right Now

I am:

cross because my sewing machine has just broken and I'm in the middle of making a relatively exciting garment

AND

entertained at the recording I just listened to of Christmas dinner c.1976 when I can be heard calling for more meat, and at one point asking for Spam! (No Spam was to be had.) This was my "look" in 1976. I appear to be trying to pick something up - perhaps it was some nice Spam.
Right now I just work up infront of my computer mid way through my big pile of homework. I am also loving Saskia's recent picture based RightNows.

Just to put it in perspective - this is the fancy dress outfit!

Wednesday, 13 October 2010

Right now

I am in awe of Saskia's most recent contribution to this blog and most entertained by her recent "how much = too much" question aussi. (I just put aussi in italics to make it even more pretentious.)

And right NOW I'm going to top my hairdye up...

Monday, 11 October 2010

Right Now

I am wondering (for Anna) how much time spent making your fancy dress costume versus amount of time spent actually attending the associated fancy dress party is too much time spent making your fancy dress costume versus amount of time spent actually attending the associated fancy dress party?

Thursday, 7 October 2010

Right Now

  • I am pRETty sure that MY voice is WELL modULated but I'll be sure to check the rest of the criteria to be sure of social success.
  • I would like to beg Saskia's pardon for being about to correct her about the How Much Is Too Much question - it has always been a personal project of mine (always = 12 months in this case) and praps Bekka joined in at one point, but it's open to ALL! In fact I think it is a person's social duty to get the facts down in black & white to protect their fellow man from making the same mistakes as them.
  • I am also wondering what we have done to lose our follower. Perhaps we are just toooooo clever and sophisticated for them.
  • I am off to Cornwall now. Hurrah!

RIGHT NOW

... I would like to know where our follower went...

RIGHT NOW

I am thinking that the How much/Too much debate is usually performed by Goodall Campbell Incorporated. I am eager to put some thought into it though. I shall ponder.

RIGHT NOW

Anna, before you go assuming that that garment wants to make a lifelong commitment to you I think it is imperative that you should take this quiz. Is your voice well-modulated??

Monday, 4 October 2010

Right Now...

...I am considering getting married to this jumper:

Whilst having a torrid affair with this dress:

Please don't judge me.

Sunday, 3 October 2010

Right now I'm wondering if it's time to relaunch the important question:

How much (something) is too much (something)?

This is surely the perfect forum for such a project - the question can be posed Right Now and any answers can be posted Right Now with no need for any past tense reflection... erm... possibly...?

I can't remember any of the previously posed and answered questions but I believe that one or more of them probably involved cake.

You might not remember/know what I'm talkin' about, but I'm going to take that risk.

RIGHT NOW...

... I am pleased to announce that I had a lovely weekend in Pembrokeshire, and am also happy that Berek could be studying in Oxford in the future!

Thursday, 30 September 2010

Right Now

If very happy with the fact that because I'm a cool mature student Oxford don't care about my dubious GCSEs.

Wednesday, 29 September 2010

Right Now...

...I am prepared to admit that I own this record, purchased from Oxfam (with an ironic eyebrow firmly cocked) when I was 16.
And it's Arlene Phillips wot is off the telly!

RIGHT NOW

... I can think of NO superior inspiration for a dance than Dancercise. Although Sam has just declared that he owns a record called POPMOBILITY!
http://retrotrash.org/pophits.htm

For mobilising your internal popinjay!

RIGHT NOW

Right Now I am thinking about the "Teapot Tip" dance which became enormously popular in America and overseas!

Tuesday, 28 September 2010

Right NOW

I'm so glad it's the last episode of BNTM - Julian MacDonald seems seriously dim. Earlier in the episode he'd said: "I can't falter her"; and just now he honestly truly said to one of the finalists, in a low meaningful tone: "You epitomize everything about what you are".

Right now...

...I'm writing a poem about a person who feels like some old cheese.

Monday, 27 September 2010

Saturday, 25 September 2010

Right now...

...I'm on a coach to Leeds with my most favourite person. Right yesterday I did find Bodines but it was closed. For those who don't know Bodies is an Anerican style food place with burgers and ribs and heart attacks and stuff.

Right NOW

I am wondering why on earth we have no followers when we're being so darn topical? Do people not care about what is happening RIGHT now?

Right now I'm hoping...

... that Berek located Bodines.

What/where/who is Bodines I wonder?

Friday, 24 September 2010

Thursday, 23 September 2010

Right Now I'm delighted...

...that there is a open air cinema at Oxford Castle this week, but sad that I didn't know anything about it till today, and disappointed at the selection of films they've chosen to show which are cheeeeeeesy in the extreme - and while I may have 3 out of 4 of them on video (shhhh...) it doesn't mean I want to pay money to watch them in front of other people! Why couldn't they screen Brief Encounter or The Third Man or Vertigo or something if they're determined to show "classic" films? I'd pay to see those in an atmospheric outdoor setting! Silly billies.

Also while I was writing the above I happened to notice that Delia Smith is on a Waitrose advert looking rather ropey in a cobalt blouse and she is suggesting that a person should coat their chicken breasts in couscous before baking them in the oven. I would have remained oblivious to these things except that she caught my attention by pronouncing it cooze-cooze and I find that unsettling.

Right now

I am amused to have confused the other Right Now bloggers with casual mention of Plumo.
It's a mail order/online company that sells (mainly very expensive) desirable things like, apparently, twine! (It's where I got Rachael & Ben's wedding pressie toadstool cake-stand from don't you know.)

Riiight Now

Right now I'm wondering what Plumo is. I'm afraid the right now that will be happening on Saturday will not include me.
PS my headers also appear in black.

Right NOW

Plumo? What is this Plumo that you nonchalantly name-check?
All the headers are black on my computer!
You will most certainly be seeing me (and Sam) on Saturday.
That picture has nothing to do with anything, I just like it! And I want you all to know I regularly fly in tiny private planes.

Wednesday, 22 September 2010

And...

...Right NOW I am slightly perplexed by Plumo's fascination with twine.

And Right NOW

I am wonderin' why Saskia's post titles are coming out grey when mine are red (which is how I designed them)...?

Right now

I am wondering if I'll be seeing my fellow Right Now bloggers at the happenin' party this weekend?

RIGHT NOW

Ps Berek you are VERY nautilous being late for college! All the other kids must be in love with you because you're such a rebel x

RIGHT NOW

Right Now I am delighted to have FINALLY come up with a tagline for Cleo: 'Watching it, smelling it, enjoying it since 2006'

Time

Right now I'm contemplating buying a better alarm clock as I have been late to college every day this week :(

Tuesday, 21 September 2010

Right Now I am feeling so very much love for Stephen Fry

Right now I'm wondering if there's any way of making a kettle that does boil when watched

Right now

I am simultaneously chucklin' about and horrified by the amazingly unattractive and trout-like watch company representative who kept barking things like "have fun with the watch!" at the models during a photo shoot on Britain's Next Top Model. "More energy! More energy! Look like you're having more fun with the watch!"

An example of one of the perplexed models trying to have more fun with the watch.

STUPID bloody programme.
Maybe I should stop watching it...?
Right now I am also very excited by the arrival of Berek and considering having a personality overhaul and becoming a non pausing pointchanging madwoman. It sounds like fun. Berek, would your brain cope?

Monday, 20 September 2010

Right now...

...I 'm worried about Berek's potentially exploding brain but pleased he has finally joined the blog!

Right now I'm very flustered due to the fact that our Physics teacher is some kind of non pausing pointchanging madman! MY BRAINS GONNA EXPLODE SOON!!!

Right now I'm incredibly excited about having my first full day of lessons at college.

Right now it's time to apologise for my blog related tardiness.

Right now I am smiling about the fact that a random man in the super market just told me I had picked a good cheese: 'Good choice. Manchego's a great cheese.' Do you think perhaps he works in PR for Manchego? Or that Tesco's now have very bespoke advertising strategies?

Wednesday, 15 September 2010

Right Now I am chuckling about the fact that Sam said he had heard a rumour that I had a very ugly trumpet!

Science

RIGHT NOW I am giggling about Saskia's post below, and have been inspired to write some Q&As for men hoping to wow the ladies with their moves, based on the study she mentions.

Q I am a wannabe lothario who dances like a malfunctioning windmill. Am I likely to get lucky with the ladies?
A No. You must have witnessed it - because apparently we have all witnessed it – a packed dancefloor of bodies gyrating perfectly to the beat suddenly being emptied by the unwelcome appearance of a man flailing his arms about wildly? And not emptied in a good way. If there is one.

Q I realise that the single most important arena where humans select their mates is the dancefloor, but I'm not sure what the dancefloor can inspire in a person. Please could you fill me in?
A The dancefloor can inspire terror and longing – but more often embarrassment and hilarity.

Q My footwork is really, really fancy. Is that enough to attract a mate?
A Sadly not. A study has revealed that upper body movement is key to attracting women. It was in the Independent science bit and everything.

Q I like to dance vigorously, making large movements of my upper body and head, but I also vary my movements, showing creativity and flair; whereas my friend likes to lean towards folk dancing of the Riverdance kind. You know the sort of thing - Irish dancing, with its focus on leg kicking and a static upper body. Neither of us want to face disappointment. Which of us is most unlikely to set women's hearts racing?
A The results of the study, which are surprisingly detailed, suggest that the speed of the right knee is critical, as is the size and variability of movement of the neck, trunk, left shoulder and wrist. As long as you incorporate some or all of those body parts into your routine and watch the speed of your right knee, it sounds like you are going to be the dancefloor hit.
RIGHT NOW this moronic 'science' is making me chortle

Just to balance the dogginess (oh he is adorable) of the last post I thought I should say that RIGHT NOW I am thinking about a cat who lives down my road who looks like this and whom I have named Elvis and who gets so excitied when you tickle him that he hops from one back foot to the other like he needs the toilet! And NOW I am thinking of the brilliant litter adverts we saw in New York (Anna) with the cats who needed the toilet...

And searching for that online lead me to this anti-cat rant http://www.shropshirestar.com/latest/2010/03/24/letter-cats-are-a-menace-to-gardeners/ hee hee some might say that these people have a little toooo much time on there hands (but then again look at what I'm getting up to!?)

Right now - Pepsi (Simon & Annabel's new dog)

Has a funny name but doesn't think she chose it
Has a doggy whistle - doesn't care who blows it
Had a little widdle - doesn't care who knows it

When she wags her tail she's asking you "How goes it?"
Has another question - doesn't care to pose it
This rhyme is getting silly so I think I'll close it

RIGHT NOW I am laughing at the ridiculousness of this item from Lakeland...

http://www.lakeland.co.uk/individual-cupcake-caddies/F/C/storing-preserving/C/storing-preserving-food-storage/product/13930/pgs/62

When would you ever really use this? When would you ever want to transport a single cupcake?

Oh and NOW I'm thinking about picking some blackberries and making some jam.

And NOW I am trying not to think about going back to work tomorrow...

Tuesday, 31 August 2010

Right Now...

I am mainly happy to have located Anner! When we get investment/advertising revenue for this blog we should all get dedicated iphones or some such! It is not very 'Right Now' for Right Now bloggers to go AWOL

Right Now...

...I am feeling delighted that Saskia has already posted and also thinking that this blog would have benefited more from my trip to Wales if I had an iphone or similar.

Also, RIGHT NOW I am sad that I was outbid on some boots on ebay and tired from my journey back from the van. I am also worried that if I do not think of more interesting things (or blog at the wrong times) this blog is going to be BOR-ING! Finally, I am irritated that my laptop is so entirely rubbish.

NOW I am relieved that I managed to retrieve all this text after deleting it accidentally.

More inspiring posts to follow! Honest! Now we just need Berek to pull his socklets up...

Friday, 27 August 2010

Right now I'm mainly thinking about where Anna has got to!? And when did Nicholas Hoult got so handsome!?

Thursday, 26 August 2010

Right Now!

What is going on RIGHT NOW?

  • Small twitch under left eye is back.
  • Thinking about going to Wales tomorrow.
  • Still spending excessive and unparalled amounts of time thinking about wool.
COME ON BEREK AND SASKIA! LET'S GET THIS STARTED!
